The Tai-Ex opened down 234-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 15,668 on turnover of 13.8-billion N-T.
The market continued its decline on Wednesday, losing more than 8-per cent midway through the session on the back of a sharp rise in the number of domestic coronavirus cases and concerns over the tightening of pandemic (限制，約束) restrictions.
However, the Tai-Ex bounced back towards the end of the session, as investors opted to move to large cap tech stocks from government-led funds.
CECC Outlines 6-Point Plan to Stop Community Coronavirus Spread

Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says the Central Epidemic Command Center will implement a six-point plan to curb the recent rise in domestic coronavirus cases.
According to Chen, under the new plan, contact tracing will be expanded and all persons identified as possibly infected will be tested and quarantined, with the goal of erecting (建立；建造) a "firewall" to prevent further community transmission.
Testing and reporting of coronavirus results will be broadened and expedited (迅速完成；促進；加快) to quickly identify new cases.
And epidemic prevention measures will be mandatory at all places of business, meaning people will be required to wear masks and register their contact information to facilitate quick contact tracing.
Escalating Coronavirus Cases Boosting Vaccination Numbers

Meanwhile,
The rising number of domestic coronavirus cases has seen a record daily high vaccination rate - with 11,018 people receiving the AstraZeneca jab on Tuesday.
That figure pushed the total number of vaccine recipients to 112,543 since the government rolled out the vaccine on March 22.
Health authorities say there are around 180,000 doses remaining, both for people on the government's priority list based on their vulnerability (弱點,易受傷害) and those who choose the self-paid program.
Russia Calls for Mediators to Defuse Israel Conflict

Russia is calling for a quick meeting of international mediators to help defuse (化解) the spiraling Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says it is necessary to call an urgent meeting of the so-called Quartet of mediators, which includes the United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations.
Lavrov made the statement after talking Wednesday with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
He voices hope that Guterres can help convene (召開) such a meeting.
Guterres says ``we are totally committed to revitalizing the Quartet.''
US Pipeline Resumes Operations

The giant fuel pipeline that was shut down last week because of hackers has been able to resume its operations.

&Australia Moderna Reach Vaccine Agreement

Australia has reached a supply agreement for 25 million doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.
Moderna says the deal includes 10 million doses of the vaccine against the original strain to be delivered in 2021 and 15 million doses of an updated variant booster (藥品, （增強藥效的）輔助藥劑) to be delivered in 2022.
The vaccines have yet to be approved by the Australian regulator.
Pfizer and AstraZeneca are the only other coronavirus vaccines approved for use in Australia.
All three vaccines require two doses.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he expected the first Moderna vaccines to arrive in Australia in the last three months of 2021.
