Tai-Ex opening

發佈於 2022-06-20 11:39:13

The Tai-Ex opened marginally up by 7-points this morning from Friday's close, at 15,649 on turnover of 3.1-billion N-T.

The market closed at it's lowest level in 13 months on Friday, ending a week in which the market lost nearly 5-per cent.

Electronic shares were among the biggest losers following news that Samsung has temporary halted new orders and asked suppliers to delay or reduce shipments because of swelling inventories.

However, turnover was up compared to recent sessions to surpass the 300-billion N-T, after staying between 190 and 230 N-T billion for much of this month.

FINA Bans Transgender Women from Women's Events

發佈於 2022-06-20 11:39:14

World swimming's governing body has effectively banned transgender women from competing in women's events.

FINA members at the organization's extraordinary general congress voted 71.5% in favor of its new ``gender inclusion policy'' that only permits swimmers who transitioned before age 12 to compete in women's events.

A FINA spokesperson confirmed there are currently no transgender women competing in elite levels of swimming.

FINA's new 24-page policy also proposed a new ``open competition'' category.

The organization said it was setting up ``a new working group that will spend the next six months looking at the most effective ways to set up this new category.''
