The Tai-Ex opened down 120-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 14,860 on turnover of 3.2-billion N-T.
The market closed slightly lower on Monday after recouping most of it's early losses as bargain hunters turned active (活躍) late in the session.
Despite recovering from an early downturn, the bellwether electronics sector remained weak throughout the trading day amid concerns over weakening global demand for consumer electronic gadgets.
But buying rotated to old economy stocks, to provide some support to the broader market.
Blinken Calls on China Not to Raise Tension Amid Pelosi Taiwan Visit Chatter

U-S Secretary of State Antony Blinken says a potential visit to Taiwan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would be entirely her decision.
The statement comes after the Financial Times cited people familiar with the matter as saying Pelosi will next travel to Taiwan and meet President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei tomorrow.
According to the U-S Secretary of State, China shouldn't escalate (使…上漲、使…惡化) tensions in the event of such a visit.
Speaking after nuclear nonproliferation talks at the United Nations, Blinken said if Pelosi does decide to visit Taiwan and China tries to create some kind of crisis or otherwise escalate tensions, "that would be entirely on Beijing."
Taiwan Advanced to U-12 Baseball World Cup Super Round

Taiwan has beaten South Africa 12-0 in five innings at the Asia-Pacific International Baseball Stadium in Tainan to advance to the U-12 Baseball World Cup Super Round.
The result is the team's third win in the group stage and Taiwan moves into the Super Round from Group along with Mexico and Venezuela.
Taiwan plays Italy this evening in its final group game, but the result of that game is now irrelevant ( 無關緊要的).
Eleven teams are competing in two groups in the opening round.
Each group's top three finishers advance to the super round - the two finishers of which will advance to Sunday's final.
US Confirms al Qaeda Leader Killed

The US has killed the leader of al Qaeda with a drone strike in the Afghan capital Kabul.
The CIA carried out the operation targeting the leader, who has led the terrorist network since 2011 following the US killing of Osama bin Laden.

Alibaba Responds to US Announcement of Possible Delisting

Chinese e-commerce firm Alibaba said Monday that it would strive to maintain its listing status both in New York and Hong Kong, days after U.S. regulators included it in a list of companies facing possible delisting (退市) if they don't meet auditing requirements.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has said Chinese companies may be delisted if they do not give American regulators access to their financial statements and auditing processes as is required of other companies.
Alibaba said in an announcement Monday that it would continue to monitor market developments, comply with applicable laws and regulations and try to keep its shares listed on both the NYSE and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
