The Tai-Ex opened up 10-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 14,757 on turnover of 2.4-billion N-T.
The market lost more than 200 points on Tuesday on the back of increasing investor concerns over cross-strait tensions ahead of a visit to Taiwan by U-S House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Selling was seen across the board with large cap stocks in both electronic and non-tech sectors in focus.
Turnover also remained moderate, indicating many investors were reluctant to buy due to fears China could take retaliatory (報復性) action in response to Pelosi's visit.

U-S House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has visited the Legislative Yuan.
Pelosi was greeted by Deputy Legislative Speaker Tsai Chi-Chang, as Legislative Speaker You Xi-kun has been unable to attend this morning's meetings after testing positive for the coronavirus.
You remains quarantine, but took to Facebook to says that most people in Taiwan are happy about Pelosi's visit and he personally is very excited, as he has previously invited the U-S Speaker to visit three times by letter.
The Legislative Speaker also said that Pelosi's not being intimidated (有恐懼感) by Beijing is confirmation of the rock-solid commitment the United Sates has towards Taiwan.
Pelosi spoke briefly to the press and praised Taiwan for it's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
She then held closed-door talks with the caucus whips of the D-P-P, K-M-T, Taiwan People's Party and New Power Party.

Guatemala Arrests Alleged Migrant Smugglers

Guatemalan authorities have arrested more than a dozen alleged members of a migrant smuggling network near the shared border with Mexico, including four sought by the United States in connection with the death of a migrant in Texas in 2021.
The arrests early Tuesday came a month after 53 migrants, including 21 Guatemalans, died in a failed smuggling attempt when they were abandoned inside a sweltering (酷熱的) trailer in San Antonio, Texas.
There was no indication those arrested Tuesday were involved in the San Antonio tragedy.
Cyprus Confirms First Case of Monkeypox

The Cyprus Health Ministry says a 40-year-old man is the east Mediterranean island nation's first confirmed monkeypox case.
The ministry said Tuesday the case was detected after the man underwent a laboratory test at the Cypriot capital's General Hospital.
The individual has a history of travel abroad (國外) and has exhibited ``clinical symptoms compatible the monkeypox disease.``
The patient has been admitted to a specially modified ward at hospital for treatment.
