The government has notified (通知) member economies (會員經濟體) of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (跨太平洋夥伴全面進步協定) that Taiwan is seeking to join the regional trade deal.
Taiwan is seeking membership of the 11-nation bloc to cushion the impact of being excluded from the Beijing-backed Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (區域全面經濟夥伴協定), which was formed in November.

According to European Chamber of Commerce C-E-O Freddie Hoglund, the chamber
has been studying the issue since 2010 and is very happy to finally be seeing
a solution, as it will provide foreign nationals living here in Taiwan

The Governor of Guam, Lourdes Leon Guerrero, is planning to visit Taiwan next
month for talks on the establishment of a 'travel bubble' to help facilitate
the re-opening of the U-S territory's tourism industry.

"very anxious" to receive her and that the visit will be encouraging for

A cybersecurity watchdog says dozens of journalists at Al-Jazeera, the Qatari
state-owned media company, have been targeted by advanced spyware.
Citizen Lab says its previous research helped link the attempt to hack 36
journalists' personal phones to the governments of Saudi Arabia and the
United Arab Emirates.

The group traced the malware back to the Israel-based NSO Group, which has

Text messages were infecting targeted cellphones without the users needing to

of ties between Israel and the UAE.
