The Tai-Ex opened down 166-points this morning from Friday's close, at 17,510 on turnover of 5.1-billion N-T.
The market moved slightly lower Friday as investors locked in early profits after the main board received an initial boost (開盤時上漲) from an overnight rally on Wall Street.
The bellwether electronics sector sustained its upturn (維持上漲) throughout the session, led by large cap semiconductor stocks, which offset a slump (下挫) in investor interest in the old economy and financial sectors.
AEC Experts Return from Fukushima Plant Visit

The Atomic Energy Council says a team of eight officials who traveled to Japan last week to inspect wastewater from the disabled Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant have now returned to Taiwan.
The trip was organized as the council is seeking to evaluate plans by Tokyo to discharge (釋出) more than 1.25-million cubic meters of treated water (經過處理的廢水) from the plant into the sea.
The wastewater could be released starting in the spring of next year at the earliest.
The council says the team was granted entry into the plant and briefed (接受簡報) by officials from the Tokyo Electric Power Company.
Taiwan and Vatican Officials Plant Trees in Support of Ukraine

Taiwan and Vatican officials have planted three olive tree saplings (樹苗) to symbolize their solidarity (團結) with war-torn Ukraine.
According to the Taiwan's embassy in the Holy See, the trees were planted by Ambassador Matthew Lee and two high-ranking Vatican officials.
The ceremony was held on the grounds of Lee's official residence in Rome.
The planting comes ahead of the 80th anniversary of Taiwan-Vatican diplomatic ties.
And the embassy says the planting of the olive trees symbolizes (象徵) Taiwan and the Vatican's support for Ukraine and their commitment (承諾) to world peace, including peaceful cross-strait relations.
In a symbolic gesture of support for Ukraine, the three saplings were draped (掛著) in blue-and-yellow ribbons (絲帶).
