The Tai-Ex opened down 217-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 16,427 on turnover of 6.5-billion N-T.
The market closed slightly higher on Tuesday on a limited technical rebound from the previous session, as an early upturn lost ground amid lingering concerns over the U-S Federal Reserve's monetary policy.
The financial sector stabilized (穩定) the main board, as the bellwether electronics sector fell, on the back of investor concerns that rising interest rates in the U-S will prompt foreign institutional investors to dump tech stocks.
MND to Add Lessons Russia's Ukraine Invasion to Han Kuang Exercise

The Ministry of National Defense say it plans to incorporate lessons learned from Russia's invasion of Ukraine into the upcoming Han Kuang military exercise.
Ministry officials say the lessons from that invasion could help defend Taiwan if it is attacked by China.
The tabletop phase of this year's Han Kuang exercise is slated (預定) to take place next month, while live fire drills are currently scheduled for July.
According to the defense ministry, the tabletop exercise will simulate possible actions by China in recent years to invade Taiwan, taking into account the "lessons of the Russian-Ukrainian war."
While the five-day live fire phase will focus on attacking the enemy at sea, preserving combat forces and integrating both regular and civil defense and reservist forces to improve overcall combat abilities.
MOFA Touts WHA Hopes

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it is still hoping to secure (獲得) observer status at this year's World Health Assembly.
According to ministry spokeswoman Joanne Ou, her office is working in conjunction with the Ministry of Health on the matter and relevant preparations for the event have already been made.
Ou isn't going into any details concerning what those preparations are.
However, she's stressing that the government is also closely coordinating the matter with Taiwan's allies and like-minded countries in order to gain greater international consensus on Taiwan's W-H-A observer status.
UN Calls for Humanitarian Corridors in Ukraine

The UN Secretary General has called for Moscow to work with Kiev and the UN to establish (建立) humanitarian corridors in Ukraine.

Turkey Eases More COVID19 Restrictions

Turkey has lifted one of its last remaining COVID-19 restrictions.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Tuesday that masks are no longer required in crowded indoor locations. .
But the president also says masks will continue to be required on public transport and in health facilities for a while longer.
The number of daily cases has dropped dramatically (戲劇性地) since early February, when more than 110,000 infections were recorded.
Monday's daily data from the Health Ministry showed 2,604 cases and 15 deaths.
