- Britain Uber Gives Drivers Worker Benefits
Uber is giving its U.K. drivers the minimum wage, pensions and holiday pay,
following a recent court ruling that said they should be classified as
workers and entitled to such benefits.
The ride hailing giant's announcement comes after it lost an appeal last
month at the U.K. Supreme Court following a years-long court battle, in a

country's gig economy.

- Economic Minister Open to Dialogue with Environmental Groups
Economic Minister Wang Mei-hua says she remains open to dialogue with
environmental groups on the issue of the Da-tan algal reefs.
Speaking in an interview, Wang says her administration is facing three major
challenges as tensions build over plans to build a liquefied natural gas
receiving station at Da-tan, Taoyuan.
