The Tai-Ex opened up 27-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 17,249 on turnover of 8.4-billion N-T.
The market lost more than 300 points on Monday, as investor sentiment took a hit (受到打擊) amid concerns over a growing number of domestic coronavirus cases.
The bellwether electronics sector led the downturn, but selling was also seen among old economy heavyweights.
While turnover for the day's session totaled 587-billion N-T - and that was the second-largest trading volume in the market's history.
CECC Confirms Two New Domestic Coronavirus Cases

The Central Epidemic Command Center is reporting two new domestic coronavirus cases.
It brings the total number of cases linked to China Airlines and the Novotel cluster in Taoyuan to 26.
One of the two cases was a Taiwanese man in his 40s who was working on a renovation project as a subcontractor (分包商) at the Novotel and health officials are still looking into how he became infected and where he went prior to testing positive.
The second case is a teenage Indonesian national who is a family member of a China Airlines cargo pilot who tested positive for the disease in Australia on April 20.
Two other members of the same family have also recently tested positive for the virus.
Parents of American Killed in Hualien Train Crash to Take Legal Action

The parents of an American national killed in the April 2 Hualien train accident are calling on the Taiwan Railways Administration to take legal responsibility for the crash in order to ensure passenger safety and prevent such tragedies from happening again.
In an open letter read by their lawyer in Taipei, the parents of Senead Short said they appreciate the up to 30-million N-T compensation promised to the families of victims of the incident.
However, they says "this should never be considered an appropriate compensation for our daughter's life!"
New Power Party Lawmaker Wang Wan-yu has been tasked by Short's parents to take charge of subsequent (隨後的) legal action targeting the railways administration.
US China Officials to Meet at UN Security Council Meeting

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will participate in a high-level U.N. Security Council meeting chaired by China's foreign minister on Friday.
High-level officials from around the world will discuss strengthening global cooperation and the key role of the United Nations in harnessing (利用…的動力) international action to tackle the world's many conflicts and crises.
China's U.N. ambassador Zhang Jun says the meeting is ``the first priority'' of China's Security Council presidency this month, and will also be attended by other foreign ministers from council nations.
It will be the first encounter, though virtually, for Blinken and China's top diplomat Wang Yi.

Colombia Finance Minister Resigns Amid Protests

Colombia's finance minister has resigned following five days of protests over a tax reform proposal that left at least 17 dead.
Alberto Carrasquilla's resignation comes a day after President Ivan Duque withdrew the tax plan from congress in response to the protests, which have included riots and violent clashes with police.
Carrasquilla had designed the tax reform, which was aimed at raising $6.7 billion for Colombia's government as it struggles to pay debts while attempting to provide poor families with subsidies to mitigate (使緩和；減輕（危害等）) the pandemic's impact.
