Jiayi Offers Nucleic Acid Tests to Pingtung Travelers

發佈於 2021-06-28 13:21:04

Jiayi City government is offering nucleic acid COVID tests to all local citizens who have visited Fangshan Township in Pingtung County since June 6.

It's calling for all local citizens who traveled to the area since then to call the Jiayi City epidemic prevention hotline (熱線) to arrange an appointment.

Hospitals will not be taking on-site registrations for nucleic acid tests to prevent overcrowding.

The measure comes after six people in Fangshan Township tested positive for the highly infectious COVID-19 delta variant.

The government said test-takers can check their results on the National Health Insurance app.

Those waiting for results and those who test negative should still conduct self-health management for 14 days.

發佈於 2021-06-28 13:21:04

The Ministry of Finance is giving medical workers more time to file their taxes.

With the ongoing coronoavirus outbreak, the Ministry recognizes that medical workers are spending all their time fighting the epidemic.

It is therefore giving registered medical workers until August 2nd to file their tax returns, without having to apply for an extension (延期).

Approximately one-tenth of Taiwan's 300 thousand registered medical workers have yet to file.

MOHW Allowing Individual Imports of Medical-Grade Blood Oxygen Machines

發佈於 2021-06-28 13:21:04

The Ministry of Health and Welfare is now allowing individuals to import medical-grade blood oxygen machines.

The devices previously required government approval to bring into Taiwan, though demand has spiked due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

In response to public demand, the Ministry is now allowing each individual to import (進口) one such machine into Taiwan through the end of the year.

The Ministry notes that similar machines used for sports purposes are not considered medical-grade, and can be freely imported.

Out of the six sub-indices, only the one for confidence in entering the stock market rose from the month before.

The sub-index for durable goods (耐用品) fell the most in June, dropping over 16 points to its lowest point since last July.

 Australia Battling COVID19 Clusters

發佈於 2021-06-28 13:21:05

Australia is battling to contain several COVID-19 clusters around the
country.

Sydney in the east and Darwin in the north were locked down today.

Perth in the west made masks compulsory for three days and warned a lockdown could follow after a resident tested positive after visiting Sydney more than a week ago.

Brisbane and Canberra have or will soon make wearing masks compulsory (強制性的).

Australia has been relatively successful in containing clusters throughout the pandemic, registering less than 31-thousand cases since the pandemic began.

But the new clusters have highlighted the nation's slow vaccine rollout with only 5% of the population fully vaccinated.
