Tai-Ex opening

發佈於 2021-09-22 10:33:02

The Tai-Ex opened down 80-points this morning from last Friday's close, at 17,196 on turnover of 100-million N-T.

The market closed little changed last Friday after a volatile session, during which investor sentiment was focused on concerns about possible negative leads emerging (浮起;新出現) in overseas markets during the four-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.

However, analysts are warning that the Tai-Ex is is likely to take a beating today following the four-day holiday on the back of a plunge on U-S markets on Monday.

The magnitude 7.3 earthquake left more than 2,400 people dead and destroyed over 44,000 homes.

Mid-Autumn Festival Sees 'Real' Full Moon

發佈於 2021-09-22 10:33:02

And,

Sky watchers last night got to see the Mid-Autumn Festival's first "real" full moon on the festival day since 2013.

The festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, but does not always coincide (同時發生) with an exact full moon.

A full moon occurs when the Earth is located between the Sun and the Moon, which has a cycle of roughly 29.53 days.

And that means a "real" full moon can take place anytime between the 14th to 17th of a month, with the chances the highest on the 16th.

According to the Taipei Astronomical Museum, the exact "real" full moon occurred at 7:55AM Tuesday, but remained a "real" full moon last night after it reappeared at 6:18PM.
