The Tai-Ex opened down 32-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 18,492 on turnover of 3.3-billion N-T.
The Tai-Ex gained ground on Monday, as regional markets ended the day mixed on the back of news that China's economic growth in the last quarter of last year was lower than expected.
Lin Zi-Miao Touts Innocence in Corruption Investigation

Yilan County Commissioner Lin Zi-miao is denying any wrongdoing and says the ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption (貪污) against her will find her innocent of the charges.
The statement is Lin's first on the case, since she was questioned by the Yilan District Prosecutors' Office last week.
More than a dozen other Yilan County officials are under investigation for suspected corruption and money laundering.
Speaking to reporters, Lin said she respects the ongoing judicial proceedings and is "extremely thankful for everyone's" concern.
Prosecutors searched more than 30 locations late last week in conjunction with officials from the Agency Against Corruption.
Those locations included Yilan County Hall and the Luo-Dong Township Office.
Asian Baseball Championship Postponed Again

The Baseball Federation of Asia says the 2021 Asian Baseball Championship has been postponed again because of the growing number of coronavirus infections globally, which has restricted (受限制的) international travel.
It was scheduled to take place in Taichung.
According the federation, no new date for the tournament has been set.
The federation says the decision to postpone the tournament was made following discussions with the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association and the the Taichung City government.
The Asian Baseball Championship was original scheduled to be held last year, but was also cancelled because of the coronavirus situation.

Sudan Protesters Killed and Wounded

Sudanese activists say security forces have killed at least seven people and wounded around 100 others during anti-coup protests in the capital, Khartoum.
Thousands took to the streets in Khartoum and elsewhere on Monday to denounce (譴責) the October military coup.
The latest deaths bring to at least 71 the number of people killed in near-daily demonstrations in Sudan.
Tonga Volcano Causes Oil Spill in Peru

Unusually high waves attributed to (把(某事)歸因于，認為…系某人所為) the eruption of an undersea volcano in Tonga have caused an oil spill on the Peruvian coast, but authorities say the spill was controlled within hours and there's an ongoing process to clean the area.
The Peruvian Civil Defense Institute says a ship was loading oil into La Pampilla refinery on the Pacific coast on Sunday when strong waves moved the boat and caused a spill.
The government didn't say how many gallons were spilled only that local and federal authorities were working to clean the coast.
La Pampilla refinery, in the province of Callao near Lima's capital, belongs to the Spanish company Repsol.
It's considered the main oil processing plant in Peru.
Local authorities had closed area beaches to the public since Sunday.
