發佈於 2022-05-05 10:24:13

Authorities have blocked streets in Armenia's capital and warned anti-government protesters against trying to seize the country's parliament building.

Police used cement mixers and trucks to close off roads and bridges leading to the center of Yerevan.

The protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

They used cars to block the area around pedestrian underground passageways at major intersections.

Pashinyan was scheduled to speak to parliament on Wednesday.

The prime minister became a renewed target of anger last month after he spoke in parliament about the need to sign a peace agreement with neighboring Azerbaijan.

The two countries have clashed (衝突) for decades over the separatist region of Nagorno-Karabakh, which is part of Azerbaijan but has been under Armenian control since early 1990s.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and high-ranking officials from the South American nation have met with the oil minister of Iran to discuss cooperation in energy matters and efforts to defeat economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. and its allies.

Officials from both oil-producing nations ratified (批准,認可) agreements in the meetings this week in Venezuela.

That's according to a statement from Venezuela's Petroleum Ministry.

Iran's delegation was led by Javad Owji, the country's oil minister.

Neither country announced the visit in advance.

In recent years, Iran has shipped gasoline and other products to Venezuela amid a U.S. sanctions campaign.
