Business groups are calling on the government to come up with appropriate
complementary measures (配套措施) to support plans to continue raising the
minimum wage (基本工資).

The call comes after President Tsai Ing-wen said she hopes her government
will continue raising the minimum wage every year.

The National Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (全國中小企業協會) is
urging the government to come up with supplemental financial relief policies
targeted at the industries that really need financial assistance and oppose a
blanket relief package (地毯式的援助).

While the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce
(中華民國工商協進會) says hikes (提高) in the minimum wage are not the only
way for the government to take care of workers and it should consider
increases in medical care insurance coverage or special housing for workers.

The Sports Administration (體育署) says it is taking steps to protest Chinese
sports authorities' description of Taiwan in handbooks for the 2022 Asian
Games (亞運) in Hangzhou.

The move comes after it was reported that Taiwan has been referred to
(被稱為) as one of China's "islands" in handbooks for the Games.

And the protest has been lodged (提出) with the Olympic Council of Asia's
executive board (執行委員會), which organizes the Asian Games.

However, the administration says it has yet to receive any official response.

The handbooks have been issued by the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing
Committee.

stolen Ukrainian grain (榖物) to countries facing dire (急迫的) food
shortages.

The president of ethnically divided Cyprus (以種族為主分裂的塞浦路斯) says he
will lodge a complaint with the United Nations over Turkey's new financial
assistance deal with breakaway Turkish Cypriots (分離的土耳其塞浦路斯人).

He claims the deal demonstrates (顯示) Ankara's "complete control" over them.

According to Greek Cypriot president, he will also include in the protest
letter Turkey's move to designate (指定) the Turkish Cypriots' unrecognized
airport as a domestic flight route (國內航線).

That would effectively turn it into Turkish territory (領土).

The Dominican Republic's minister of environment and natural resources
(環境和自然資源部長) has been shot and killed in his office.

Officials say Orlando Mera was holding a meeting at the time of the attack.

A presidential spokesman has identified the assailant (攻擊者) as a childhood
friend of the minister.

He is now in custody (被羈押).

However, the motive (動機) for the shooting remains unknown.

they received for their second child, who was named in honour of the Queen.
