16,538 on turnover of 2.2-billion N-T.

Turnover for the session remained thin - at 187-billion N-T.

And that marked the third time this year that daily turnover on the main
board has dropped below the 200-billion N-T mark.

of this year will continue to affect the island for the remainder of the week
and into the early weekend.

According to the bureau's forecast center, some of the largest accumulation
(積累) of rainfall since the weather front began affecting Taiwan earlier
this week has been reported in Hsinchu and Miaoli.

Heavy rain has also been affecting Chiayi, Kaohsiung and Pingtung.

Heavy rain advisories remain in effect for nearly all of Taiwan proper - with
the exception of Yilan, Hualien and Taitung.

And those advisories will currently remain in effect through late this
morning, but are likely to be extended.

The weather bureau says the rain will gradually ease from Sunday.

Health workers protested on Tuesday around France to demand more hiring and
better salaries in public hospitals.

Nine unions and collectives organized a day of protest, including a

system and commissioned an urgent (緊迫的) review by July 1-st.
