The Tai-Ex opened down 74-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 15,365 on turnover of 6.4-billion N-T.
The Tai-Ex closed down on Tuesday, as losses on Wall Street overnight prompted local investors to lock in profits from the previous session's rally.
Market watchers say the bellwether electronics sector came under pressure on the back of lingering investor concerns over a rate-hike cycle by the U-S Federal Reserve, which led the broader market to trend lower.
First Shipment of Novavax Coronavirus Vaccine to Arrive in Taiwan Soon

The Central Epidemic Command Center says the first shipment of some 500,000 doses of the Novavax coronavirus vaccine could arrive in Taiwan by the end of this month.
According to health officials, rollout of the Novavax vaccine could take place on July 14 at the earliest.
There will be no priority (優先) target group for that rollout and anyone aged 18 and over will be able to choose the vaccine brand for a shot.
The announcement comes after the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices approved the use of the Novavax vaccine for both primary and booster shots for those aged 18 years and older.
The committee also says the vaccine can be mixed and matched with other brands.
CWB Expecting 'Normal' Typhoon Season

The Central Weather Bureau says it's expecting a 'normal' typhoon season this year due to a weakening La Nina in the northwest Pacific Ocean.
That means we can expect between three and four tropical storms or typhoons to directly affect Taiwan from July through September.
Forecasts for this year show that between 20 and 25 tropical storms or typhoons are expected to occur (發生) in the northwest Pacific between now and December.
A tropical disturbance in the South China Sea is expected to develop into a tropical depression later today and could strengthen into a tropical storm tomorrow at the earliest.
Colombia Prison Fire Leaves Dead and Injured

Authorities say a fire at a prison in southwestern Colombia has killed at least 51 people and injured more than 20 others.
The director of the national prison system said it's not clear if all of the dead were prisoners.
He initially said 49 had died, but the Justice Ministry later raised the toll to 51.
He said the fire broke out during what appeared to be an attempted riot early Tuesday at the medium security prison in the city of Tulua.
resident Ivan Duque expressed condolences (慰問) to the families of those who died and said he had ordered investigations into the cause.
Maxwell Sentenced to 20 Years for Sex Trafficking

British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being found guilty (有罪) on sex trafficking charges.
