發佈於 2021-09-06 10:31:03

The Tai-Ex opened up 17-points this morning from Friday's close, at 17,534 on turnover of 5.3-billion N-T.

The market moved sharply higher last Friday to close above the 17,500-point mark, led by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and United Microelectronics on the back of their product price hikes due to a global supply shortage.

Analysts say rotational buying remained active throughout Friday's session, as the market remained awash (充滿的) in ample (充足的) liquidity, which pushed up select financial and old economy stocks to lend additional support to the main board.

Meanwhile,

President Tsai Ing-wen is urging people not to "panic" if they receive a message from the Central Epidemic Command Center warning of potential contact with coronavirus carriers.

The statement comes after 1.1-million people received text messages warning of potential (可能的) contact this past weekend.

That warning has resulted in many pharmacies selling out of coronavirus home testing kits, as people rushed to purchase them.

According to Tsai, she understands that many people are concerned about the domestic outbreak, but is stressing the need for them not to panic if they receive a message warning of potential contact with coronavirus carriers.

Tsai says people who have symptoms should go to a testing center, while everyone should wash their hands frequently, wear face masks and maintain social distancing guidelines.

Army officials also seized the public airwaves, telling the nation that Conde's government is dissolved and the constitution is invalid (無效的).

The Defense Ministry initially claimed the attack had been thwarted.

Conde had been in power for more than a decade, but saw his popularity plummet (暴跌) after he sought a third term last year, saying that term limits did not apply to him.
