The Tai-Ex opened down 11-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 22,273 on turnover of 3.2-billion N-T.
The market gained ground on Monday as it extended momentum from the previous session on the back of strong momentum in the bellwether electronics sector - which continued to lead the broader market higher.
However, turnover failed to register any significant expansion, with many investors opting to stay on the sidelines amid concerns of volatility on Wall Street in the lead-up to the U-S presidential election in November.
US Executives Visiting to Explore Drone Tech Collaborations

More than 20 executives from U-S companies that manufacture drone and anti-drone systems are visiting Taiwan this week to explore collaboration and trade opportunities.
The trip has been organized by the American Institute in Taiwan and the U-S Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration.
According to A-I-T, the delegation includes representatives from Northrop Grumman, AEVEX Aerospace and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, among others.
A-I-T says the business development mission will help foster the relationships between U-S and Taiwan companies that are needed to increase global supply chain resilience (彈性).
Forest Fire Drill Alert to be Sent out in Parts of Kaohsiung Friday

The Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency is reminding residents of two Kaohsiung districts that they will receive a forest fire drill text warning on their phones this Friday.
A message reading "Forest Fire Alert Drill. Please don't panic" will be delivered through the Public Warning Cell Broadcast Service between 2:30 and 3:30PM.
It will be sent phone users in Tianliao and Cishan districts.
According to the agency, the drill is part of the efforts to help raise awareness (提高認識) of forest fires in higher-risk areas in central and southern Taiwan, particularly during October's dry season.

Japan is protesting to Moscow after claiming a Russian plane violated its airspace on Monday.
The incursion triggered (觸發) a Japanese Self-Defense Force jet to respond with signal flares for the first time ever.

Congo Prisoners Released

Congo's minister of justice says nearly 1,700 ill inmates have been released from the country's largest prison as part of an effort to thin out Congo's overcrowded prisons.
The operation took place Monday at Makala Central Prison in the capital Kinshasa.
Severely ill prisoners received immediate medical care, while others were sent home on buses provided by the ministry of justice and a state-owned company.
Makala prison, Congo’s largest penitentiary (監獄) with a capacity for 1,500 people, holds more than 12,000 inmates, most of whom are awaiting trial, according to information from Amnesty International.
The country's minister of justice says there are plans for the construction of a new prison in Kinshasa, without giving more details.
