Australia is sending peace keeping troops to the Solomon Islands, as riots are rocking the capital city.
Australia's Prime Minister Scott Morrison says police and army personnel will provide stability and security to the Pacific Island nation.

The violence began on Wednesday of this week when protestors stormed (強攻)parliament in a bid to topple the country's prime minister.
Crowds have since been defying a lockdown and setting fire to government buildings, at least one police station and businesses.
Morrison says, Canberra received a request for assistance from the prime minister Manasseh Sogavare under a security treaty the country signed with Australia in 2017.

The head of the Lithuanian Parliament's Taiwan friendship group has held
talks with President Tsai Ing-wen in Taipei - and says the visit is aimed at
"showing support for the country amid the Chinese threat it faces."
Matas Maldeikis is leading a joint delegation of lawmakers from Lithuania,
Latvia, and Estonia to participate in a conference on democracy.

Speaking during the meeting at the Presidential Building, Matas Maldeikis
said "we are here to express solidarity (團結) with you."
And he went on to say that Lithuania's pro-Taiwan policy is receiving

international order is of vital interest for both Lithuania and Taiwan."
The visit marks the first time lawmakers from of all three Baltic states have
sent a joint delegation to Taiwan.
