The Tai-Ex opened down 234-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 22,136 on turnover of $6.1-billion N-T.
The Tai-Ex rebounded from early losses to close higher on Wednesday on the back of investor optimism that Nvidia would be giving positive leads at an investor conference slated to take place after the market closed.
However, turnover remained limited, making it hard for the local main board to challenge stiff technical resistance ahead of the 60-day moving average of around 22,513-points.

Myanmar Journalists Jailed and Sentenced

The editor of an independent online news service in Myanmar says a military court has given a life prison sentence to one of its journalists and sentenced another to 20 years after convicting them under a counterterrorism law.
They were arrested last December at their homes after returning from hiding.
The sentences appear to be the most severe (嚴重的、劇烈的) dealt to any journalist since the military seized power from the elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi in February 2021.
The military government hasn't commented on their cases.
Myanmar is one of the world’s biggest jailers of journalists, second only to China, according to the press freedom group Reporters Without Borders.

Rio de Janeiro police carried out 16 search warrants targeting claw machines across the city.
Police said in a statement that the machines defraud users who believe scoring stuffed animals to be a test of skill, and are in fact, games of chance and therefore illegal.
Officers on Wednesday seized claw machines, laptops, tablets, cell phones, a firearm and stuffed animals.
They are investigating whether organized crime may be the invisible (看不見的) hand behind the claw.
