- Iran Blames Israel for Sabotage at Natanz Nuclear Site
Iran is blaming Israel for a cyberattack on its underground Natanz nuclear facility that damaged its centrifuges (離心機).
There is concern the attack could stymie (妨礙) ongoing talks over Tehran's tattered (支離破碎的) nuclear deal.
Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack.
However, Israeli media is widely reporting that the country orchestrated (精心策畫) a devastating cyberattack that caused a blackout (大停電) at the nuclear facility.
- Tsai Meets Members of Taiwan's Tokyo Olympics Team
President Tsai Ing-wen has met with several members of Taiwan's Tokyo
Tsai met with athletes who have already qualified to compete at the Games and
some of the coaches who'll be accompanying them during a visit to the
National Sports Training Center in Kaohsiung.
The president thanked them for their hard-work and for "inspiring
(鼓舞人心的) the Taiwanese people with their unshakeable fighting spirit."
And Tsai said while she understands that "competing internationally during a
pandemic is not easy," she hopes they "will be rewarded with the fruits of
their labor" and went on to say that all of Taiwan be "cheering them on" in
Tokyo this summer.
Tsai also posed for a group photo with the Olympic team.
Thirty-one Taiwanese athletes have so far qualified to compete in Tokyo and
they will be competing in nine sports, including archery, track and field,
swimming, and gymnastics.
