The Tai-Ex opened down 17-points this morning from yesterday's close, at 17,252 on turnover of 4.8-billion N-T.
The market lost ground on Tuesday, as selling was seen across the board on the back of lingering concerns that foreign institutional investors will continue to cut their holdings (出脫股票) on the local main board.
Foreign institutional investors sold a net 3.6-billion N-T worth of shares.
Kuo Hsing-chun Wins Taiwan's First Gold at Tokyo Games

Weightlifter Kuo Hsing-chun has won Taiwan's first gold medal at the Tokyo Games and has set new Olympic records in the women's 59-kilogram weight class.
Kuo finished in the 59-kilogram category with a combined lift of 236-kilograms -- lifting 103-kilograms in the snatch (抓舉) and 133-kilograms in the clean and jerk (挺舉).
Kuo's snatch, clean and jerk, and combined lifts were all Olympic records.
Meanwhile,
Weightlifter Chen Wen-hui has won bronze in the women's 64-kilogram weight class.
The 24-year-old finished with a combined lift of 230-kilograms -- 103-kilograms in the snatch and 127-kilograms in the clean and jerk.
Taiwan is currently sitting in 13th place in the Tokyo Olympics medals table (奧運獎牌表) with one gold, two silver and three bronze.
Appointments Reopen for Coronavirus Vaccinations, and Include Local Shot

Biles Wins Praise for Olympic Gymnastics Withdrawal

American star Simone Biles has won praise for withdrawing from the women's gymnastics team final (退出女子體操團體賽決賽).
Biles said she did it to focus on her mental health (心理健康).
Athletes from Great Britain, Japan and France all praised her decision, as well as Jamaica's Danusia Francis, who said she "empowered everyone (讓別人也得到力量) to put their mental wellbeing above everything else."
Biles has yet to announce if she will compete in her next event on Thursday.
